RCIP Student Interns were placed with community sponsors during the summer months (May-Aug) to work on community policy change research projects.

With the completion of the RCIP Project, the RCIP Research Internship Program is now over. For a summary of how the Intern Program worked, see Appendix 2 of the Guidebook for Collaborative Research Internships.

At this meeting, interested community, academic and government partners gathered to begin creating the policy change research projects that the interns will be working on this summer.

Intern Training Week - Getting Started
April 25-29, 2005
Hubbards, NS

During their first week "on the job", the interns got an orientation to using research for policy change, the RCIP Project and their specific policy change research projects.

On the Friday of the week (April29), interested project partners built on the work from April 13th and joined the interns to continue creating the details of their research projects.

Mid-Point Meeting - Checking In
July 6th, 2005
Truro, NS

Although the interns were in regular contact with project partners, this day was a chance for interns and project partners to formally check in with one another to see how thing were going.

Final Meeting - Goodbye and What Next
August 16th, 2005
Windsor, NS

Like the title says, this meeting was for the interns and project partners to say goodbye, talk about what worked and what needed improvement, and to make sure that the research results were being shared as part of a larger policy change strategy.
